一日過ぎちゃいましたが、昨日9月9日は重陽（ちょうよう）。
でもこれはなんだろう？と思って調べてみました。
そもそも重陽は五節句の一つで、中国から伝わったもののようです。
五節句は1月7日の七草の節句、3月3日の桃の節句、5月5日の端午の節句、7月7日の七夕の節句、そして9月9日の重陽の節句のこと。
中でも一番大きい数字の9が重なる9月9日を、重陽の節句として祝ったそうですよ。
そんな重陽の節句に欠かせないのが、菊です。
秋は菊の咲く季節であることから、重陽の節句は別名「菊の節句」ともいえるとのこと。
皆さんもカレンダーに書かれている言葉を調べると、面白いかもしれませんね！
The nine day of the ninth month is the Chrysanthemum Festival, called “Choyo”.
I did not know the festival, so I searched.
According to the website, Choyo is one of the sekku which means the special days the people hold traditional events and celebrate.
The representative sekku is May 5th in Japan. It is called Tango-no-sekku and celebrate children’s health and happiness.
Nine is the biggest in the numbers, so people celebrate September 9th as the most happiness day.
It is interesting to search the origin of the event!
